Freebie Friday 10/26

Last Monday, Rob, Emily, and I enjoyed another free dinner, this time courtesy of Corner Bakery - we each got a cafe size of their new Mac n Cheese, which was really good!  If you sign up for the Corner Bakery eCafe, they send out emails from time to time to try new products - you have to sign up for a day/time to come in and they only have a certain number of slots available, but if you get one, you get free food!

This week in the mail I received:
A sample of Eucerin Professional Repair lotion and $1 off coupon
A coupon for $2 off Tide
Kohl's coupons (I get these bc I have a Kohl's card) - $10 off any purchase, and two 15% off coupons
Two $10 off coupons for JC Penny (Rob and I both got one for some reason) that just randomly came in the mail

Invitations

I decided to start with our invites for the first "Wedding Wednesday" post since A. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and B. I think they set the tone for the whole wedding (which is what they're supposed to do, right?) and really give you an idea of our wedding "style".  I looked at tons of invitations, from shutterfly to weddingpaperdivas to etsy but couldn't find anything that fit us - I loved my friend Jess's invites, which had their initials carved in a tree, but couldn't find an "ocean" version.  I also really liked the "story" type invitations, like this one, so I decided to try writing one for us, and I ended up really liking it!  Just one problem - I have zero artistic skills, especially on the computer!  I knew I would never be able to figure out cool fonts and adding in pictures and formatting and whatever other fancy things are involved in making such a thing - so I enlisted the help of my good friend Travis (who was in the wedding) and he designed our invitations for us - seriously, if you saw the document I sent him of my "mock up" and what he turned it into, you would know how awesome he is :)  I think he should start up a custom wedding invite shop on etsy - it could be huge!  If you would like to enlist his services, let me know, I might be able to hook you up!  It turned out to be the perfect invite for us, and like I said, really set the fun, laid back vibe of our wedding.  We got so many compliments on the invitations, it was crazy!  Everyone loved that they were different, unique to us, and told our story.  Next week I'll tell you how we printed the invitations and what the back looked like!  Now without further ado, here is the front of our invite:

RED is here!

Taylor's new album, RED, is available NOW!  Last night I tried to use the "complete my album" feature on itunes (since I had already bought the 4 songs that had been released each week) but it wasn't working - SO annoying!  itunes, you can consider this my formal complaint!  (it is working now, and I've heard that sometimes there is a lag of a few days before this feature works, which makes no sense because clearly the people that downloaded songs early would want the rest of them as soon as they were available!  ok, ranting is over now).  So I may have stopped at Target on my way to work this morning to pick up the deluxe edition - I was perhaps a little too eager, as they had not even finished setting up the display yet, haha!  Target also has random Taylor merchandise, including shirts, blankets, and my personal favorite, greeting cards - I am pretty much obsessed with Taylor's cards and try to give them on as many occasions as possible - these are smaller than her normal ones but the cool thing is that they feature Taylor's own pictures (as in pictures she took herself) - I think they're super fun and would love to receive any/all of them (hint hint!).  So what are you waiting for, go get RED!

In other Taylor news, remember how I was super jealous of my friends that got to see Taylor on The Ellen Show?  Well I'm still jealous, but feeling a bit better as Laney was so kind as to give me her gift from the show - a full size bottle of Taylor's new perfume, Enchanted!!!!  LOVE it!

Freebie Friday 10/19

Rubio's in Mission Valley had a Re-Grand Opening event last Wednesday, so Rob and I both got free dinner!  I'm not a big Rubio's fan, in fact the only thing I really like is the taquitos kids meal (and let's be honest, the real reason I like it is because it comes with a churro!), but free dinner is free dinner!

I also had a coupon for buy one entree get one free at Pei Wei, which we used on Friday for dinner!
Both of these deals I got because I belong to the Rubio's and Pei Wei email lists - yes, most of the time it's just more junk mail to delete but I think it's worth it for the occasional free food offer!

In the mail last week I got:
Big Hunk candy bar (full size) plus coupon for BOGO
Living Proof Prime sample (can't wait to try this!)
Martha Stewart Living Magazine (free)
Real Simple magazine (I got 1 year for $12)
Twistbands (these were from a groupon-like deal I got awhile ago and I'm a big fan, you should get some!)

Taylor Overload!

Only 4 more days until Taylor's new album, RED, comes out and the TSwift craziness is ramping up big time!

1.  Taylor taped an episode of The Ellen Show today - how do I know this?  Oh because some of my friends from work WERE THERE!!!!  WITHOUT ME!  Not that I'm bitter or anything!  AND after the taping Taylor performed a mini-concert!  I was literally dying, I can't believe I missed out on this!  Check out the pic they sent me (!!!!!)

2. Taylor Red merchandise is now available at Walgreens - possibly I purchased a few (or more) items today to make up for missing Ellen :)

3.  TONS of Taylor appearances next week, set your DVR's!  sadly I do not have one of these magical devices :(

"Taylor will be live in Times Square for ABC’s “Good Morning America” on both October 22nd and 23rd  (7:00 a.m. ET/PT), and on the 23rd she will be the lead guest and perform on “The Late Show with David Letterman” (11:35 ET/PT on CBS).

On the 24th Taylor will be live on ABC’s “The View” for a performance and chat, and on the 25th she will make a special concert appearance on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

On the 26th, she will guest on ABC’s “Katie” with Katie Couric, and that same evening she will be featured on ABC’s “All Access Nashville with Katie Couric – A Special Edition of 20/20” primetime special (9:00 ET/PT).

Also, the week of October 22nd will be “Taylor Swift Week” on “Entertainment Tonight,” and Taylor will also be interviewed next week on “Access Hollywood,” “E! News,” and “Extra.”

Taylor Tuesday 10/16

It's Taylor Tuesday again!  Today you can download yet another new song from her new album, RED, which comes out in only 6 days!  Taylor herself is counting down on her Facebook, and she will be on Good Morning American next Monday AND Tuesday for her album release!

The new song is called State of Grace and you can preview/download it HERE - I really like this one!
I can't wait for October 22!  I will be downloading all the songs I don't already have AND purchasing the exclusive deluxe album from Target (what can I say, I'm a big fan!)

Oh, and if you haven't picked up the Glamour with Taylor on the cover, I recommend grabbing it on your next Target run (I also love Target, is that obvious yet?), along with these new Milanos :)

Taylor Tuesday!

I love Taylor Swift. a lot. I may or may not have walked down the aisle to a Taylor song (more on that in "Wedding Wednesdays").  Let's just say I'm a big fan.
So clearly I can't wait for her new album, RED, to come out on October 22!
Each Monday leading up to the release of RED, Taylor previews a new song on Good Morning America (you can youtube it later if you miss it on GMA) and then that night at midnight, you can buy the new song on itunes - she did something similar with her last album and I love it, because the sooner I have new Taylor, the better!
So far 4 songs have been released and you can get them through itunes HERE:
Starting with the most recent release, the songs are:

I Knew You Were Trouble
Red
Begin Again
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

My personal fav so far is definitely Begin Again, because I think it's the most "old school" Taylor sounding :)

10/5 - Freebie Friday

This week in the mail I received:
- a coupon for 1 free box of Bear Naked Fit Cereal, which is apparently exclusively available at Target!
- 2 Finish Quantum Powerball capsules for the dishwasher and a 75 cent off coupon

At the grocery store I was able to get 4 free packs of gum!!!  The store had ID gum packs on sale buy one get one free and I had 2 buy one get one free coupons, resulting in free gum, yay!  (fyi, I get 2 Sunday papers each week, the LA Times and the San Diego Tribune, so that I can get 2 sets of coupons)

Blogging Again!

I'm going to try blogging again!  Why?
1. I'm newly obsessed with Project Life but am already behind :(  So I thought weekly PL posts would help me stay on track!
2. I've been wanting to share all of the "details" of our wedding and how we pulled them off
3. I loved the "deals" blog Emily and I used to do
4. I think it will be fun :)

Tentative Schedule:

Project Life Tuesdays
Wedding Wednesdays
Freebie Fridays
